The SIB3 hour cost rates for outsourcing projects depend on two key parameters: project creativity and project size.
Roughly speaking, we distinguish three levels of project creativity:
- Low: complete specification and requirements are given by customer; feasibility and performance of a solution are a priori transparent although assuming strong commitment and high skill of the development team;
- Middle: clear specification is given; essential refinement in a dialogue with customer is needed; some serious algorithmic solutions are expected from the development team;
- High: only general external requirements are provided by customer - possibly along with the architectural outline; finding the solution very probably needs invention of new serious algorithms that will very likely generate new marketable know-how.
The following table conventionally characterizes the rates (in Euro):
| Project | Size: (man*month) |
| Level | < 25 | =<100 | > 100 |
| Low | 12 | 9 | 7 |
| Middle | 18 | 12 | 10 |
| High | 30 | 20 | 15 |
For sure, concrete rates can be negotiated according to the concrete outsourcing cooperation framework. A long-term cooperation agreement with a customer very probably leads to lower rates.
